At first, many people thought the COVID-19 pandemic would be a brief situation and made what they thought would be a temporary choice to postpone routine medical care. Appointments for services such as dental cleanings, mammograms, and preventative podiatry were put off. But the pandemic has gone on longer than anyone expected, and everyone has learned to adapt, including the doctors and staff at My Chicago Foot Expert. Podiatrist Dr. Stavros O. Alexopoulos wants you to know we’ve put systems in place to keep you and your family safe.
- Our doctor and staff wear face masks. We ask all office visitors to do the same. The science is clear: this is the best step we can all take to reduce transmission of the highly contagious coronavirus.
- While our doctor will, of course, touch you as he examines your feet, ankles, and lower legs, we can no longer shake your hand when we introduce ourselves. For now, smiles will have to do.
- We have plenty of hand sanitizer available. We encourage you to use it or wash your hands with soap and water before your appointment.
- We expect everyone to keep their distance from others while in common areas.
- We screen all patients for COVID symptoms. Please reschedule your appointment if you’re not feeling well, even if you don’t suspect that you’ve contracted the virus.
- We carefully clean all exam rooms in between patients.
- You may use one of our clean pens or bring your own if that is more comfortable for you.
