Foot Pain from Standing All Day: Get Relief

If you spend a lot of time standing on your feet all day, you may experience soreness and stiffness in your extremities. Our feet are put to the test daily and when it comes to giving them relief and comfort – we tend to ignore them the most. There are various techniques for relieving aching, worn-out feet. If you try these suggestions, you can stop your feet from hurting and relieve the pressure and stress of prolonged standing more quickly.

Stretch your feet

Muscles under too much tension will often tighten or cramp up. Regularly stretching your feet will relieve them from soreness. After a warm bath, once your muscles relax, try to stretch. To ease pain and stiffness, take a seat comfortably and gradually flex your feet using your hands or a band.

RICE

RICE is a procedure, not a cuisine that physicians usually advise when your feet are hurting. RICE stands for Resting, Icing, Compression and Elevation. Take the weight off and give your feet a moment to relax first. Afterward, apply an ice pack or a cold compress to the sore region to reduce the pain and swelling. You can use a bandage to support the affected area and also reduce the swelling; just be careful not to wrap it too tightly. Elevating your feet above the heart level can also help reduce swelling and inflammation.

Ball rolls

A tennis ball can be kept in your family space at home or brought to work with you. Move it back and forth by just placing it beneath your foot. This will relax and massage any stiff muscles in your feet.

Soak your feet

To relieve pain naturally, bathe your feet in lukewarm water. You can also add bath salts for further relaxation. The warm water might make you feel better by relieving pain. Make sure you dry your feet properly. Be extra careful if you have diabetes, as you are more prone to get infections and encounter foot issues due to poor blood circulation associated with diabetes.

You can use any of the above home remedies or a combination to relieve your aching feet. However, depending on the wear and tear you exert on your feet, it could be a while for them to feel better, so keep that in mind.
